In this issue, we are featuring a Special Section on Biotechnology. This section features three articles that describe recent research at the Center for Biophotonics Science and Technology at the University of California, Davis.
The three featured Hot Topics articles are (1) “Pulsed laser micro fabrication” by Prof. Itoh and group at the University of Osaka, Japan; (2) “Crystal-like structures with holographic optical tweezers,” by Prof. Leach and group at the Univ. of Glasgow, Scotland; and (3) “Lateral sinking with photonic crystal fibers,” by Prof. Eggleton and group at the University of Sydney, Australia.
